Reunion Info
July 10th - July 18th 2010
Location: Coloma, Michigan at the Gast residence just 99 miles from Chicago, Ill. and just a few miles from Lake Michigan.
Ski and Diane Mashinshi have graciously hosted the previous Oak Grove Marine Reunions and have kindly offered to help the new host and hostess, Rick and Char Gast with this 2010 reunion. They put on 2008 reunion and it was well received and centrally located.
We live out in the country on about 5 acres so there will be room for you to spread out. You can bring a tent or trailer (we can hook you to electric) or we have a couple extra bedrooms and we live in a tri-level home so there is a lot of floor space for air mattresses and sleeping bags and pillows, so no hotel is actually needed.
If you would like to make it a family vacation, there is a new hotel and water park in the makings just 8 miles away, and a KOA with a pool and tennis court just about 7 miles away, with another one just opening about 10 miles away.
We will plan to have plenty of food and drinks. At our last reunion we had people plan “doing a meal” Bill Whittaker brought enough fish for a fish fry and made wonderful hush puppies. Everyone loved that meal! We took spaghetti for our meal as we were traveling by car, so we could freeze it.. So, if you have a specialty or a treat to share with us, please let us know and we will gladly add you on the menu.( This is still to be developed)
We will plan to BBQ a lot, so we will be looking for volunteers to help with grilling.) Suggestions are welcome! Come and see Michigan, the price is right and the company can’t be better than other fellow Marines. We were new faces at the last reunion and hope you will come to join us at our next reunion!!!
